Welcome To The Conference
The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA) will be hosting the 4th Annual Midwest Forensic Training Conference on January 4th - 5th, 2018. This two day conference will be held at the state of the art Homeland Security Education Center (HEC) building on the beautiful College of DuPage campus located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Forensic professionals from local/county/state Law Enforcement Agencies, Crime Laboratories, Coroner’s Offices, Medical Examiner’s Offices and other related organizations will be in attendance from across the Midwest.
What sets this conference apart from others of its kind is its location and the type of training it supports. The Homeland Security Education Center (HEC) is a 66,000 square foot $24 million dollar state of the art training facility that features a full scale indoor street scene, forensic and cybercrime labs, command center to instruct NIMS protocols, smoke room with movable walls for EMS and fire rescue simulations and an outdoor scaling and repelling tower.
Most conferences are conducted at a hotel or conference center and are largely lecture based. This conference will take full advantage of this facility by scheduling multiple hands-on and scenario based training sessions. This means attendees will be documenting/collecting/processing real physical evidence in a lab/classroom environment or in mock crime scenes.
Each attendee will receive a USB drive with conference material on it. Box lunches will also be provided so attendees do not have to leave the facility for lunch.
Attendance is limited to 120 attendees. Register early to guarantee a seat at the conference.
